About me...
I've always loved animals. When I was a young girl, I had cats, dogs, and guinea pigs. When I was a pre-teen, I bred guinea pigs and learned a lot about breeding and taking care of animals and finding homes for the youngsters I had helped to bring into the world.
After I'd grown up, gotten married, and had my own babies...my husband and I decided we were ready for a dog. We talked about what would be the right breed of dog for us. We decided on a Golden Retriever. Living in Houston, TX at the time, I began scanning the classified ads in the paper. There were several ads for golden puppies and I quickly went to see a litter of puppies, picked out a pup, and was home with my puppy within a day or two of our decision to bring a dog into our family.
What did I learn from all that?
Be VERY careful when you pick the BREEDER of the dog you are going to spend the next 10-15 years of your life with!!!
Now, don't get me wrong. My family and I loved our golden, Bo. He was the sweetest dog in the world. His downfall was that he ended up with just about every medical issue that runs in the breed. I know that the breeder I had picked didn't know anything about her own dog's genetics...much less that of the other dogs in her dog's pedigree.
Oh, yes! I learned a lot!!

I now want to pass that knowledge on to you...by my commitment to my breeding program. My goal is NOT to breed as many Brittany puppies as I can. My goal is NOT to find ANY home for the puppies I breed. My goal is NOT to make myself known as a prolific breeder.
The goals I DO HAVE for my breeding program include:
Health clearence registries:
OK....Now a little about my family. My husband and I have been married over 20 years. We have 3 boys...one I came into the marriage with, Brian. He is now 24 and off on his own. Then we have David (16) and Kevin (13). I homeschool my boys. The boys have recently joined an Aikido school. Aikido is a martial art.
We keep very busy...running about, learning, and working with the dogs. Our girls...as we call Ginny and Oneida...are very important parts of our lives.
I never thought I would be showing dogs. I never thought that I would find myself active in a dog obedience school. Yet, I always knew that I'd have dogs as pets. I'd grown up with dogs. I loved having dogs around. And I missed Bo so much when he passed....Well, here I am...Showing dogs...Teaching a puppy obedience class...and LOVING it!!!
In addition to my dog hobby, I also crochet. I have several crochet designs published. To see the "crochet side" of my website, please click here...Elaine's Crochet Page
