Oneida becomes a DAM

Oneida was bred to Dual CH Wyngolds Tough To Touch "Redd".

ONLY ONE MALE PUPPY joined us on July 6, 2006. Please see our Puppies Page for more information!!

Oneida finishes Championship

Oneida finished her AKC Championship in style! On July 8, 2005, Oneida earned a 3-pt major under judge, MRS. KAREN C. WILSON. During her show career, Oneida earned a total of 17 points under 10 judges--including a 5-pt major under MR. ELLIOTT B. WEISS.

Now that she has accomplished her Championship, it's time to look for fun elsewhere...we were thinking about obedience, which has already been started, agility, rally, and therapy dog work. And maybe even tracking. That should keep us busy for awhile.

Oneida goes to class

Oneida and I complete our Pet Partners class and pass our evaluation. We are now registered through the Delta Society. We are hoping to be volunteering to visit children in shcools, daycare centers, and hospitals soon.

Oneida and I are also currently in class...learning what we need to know to compete in AKC obedience trials.

Oneida's favorite thing to do...

More pictures of Oneida...

I know what you are thinking. You are thinking that Oneida sleeps all day and all night. Well, I can assure you this is not the case. It just happens to be easier to take pictures of her when she is still. LOL

We brought Oneida into our home in July of 2004, soon after her third birthday. It was the first time I'd ever adopted an adult dog, yet I had no worries over bringing Oneida home with me. From the first moment I met her, I knew she wanted nothing more than to be in someone's home on their sofa or better yet...their LAP!!!

Oneida is a sweet, loving gal. She is very intelligent and will let Ginny know when she has THE bone that she wants.

Oneida LOVES chewing on nylabones. She LOVES to sit on my lap and get her attention...which I have always let her do. She gets to spend time on my lap each day...which is probably why she attached to me so quickly.

I tease Oneida that she is part "Springer" because she springs up on her hind legs. When we first got her, every time I bent down to pet her, she would spring up and usually smack me in the face. So I had to teach her to sit to be petted. I then taught her to spring up on command. We've used it at show dog class to help her relax and I have found that it helps.

Oneida has very strong prey drive...and will "hunt" in our backyard for quite some time if she sees our neighborhood squirrel peek over the fence. I know she could easily get a hunting title if she had the right training/handling. After completing her Championship, I plan to take Oneida into the obedience ring.

She LOVES to chase cats, but only wants to play. Our cat, Kenai, isn't sure what to think of her. He runs, she chases. He doesn't run, she barks and paws at him. He doesn't think playing with Brittanys is a lot of fun, so poor Oneida doesn't get to play.

April 1, 2006
Cat update...Oneida and Kenai have come to a great understanding. They pretty much ignore each other. Every now and then Oneida will run up to him and whine at him. He just looks at her like she's crazy. Then Oneida will run off to find Ginny to play with. End update...

We are looking forward to Oneida having her first litter of puppies. I'm sure she will make a wonderful mother! If you are interested in getting on the puppy waiting list, please email me.

During her show career, Oneida earned a total of 17 points under 10 judges--including a 5-pt major under MR. ELLIOTT B. WEISS. She had one Best of Breed, several Best Opposite Sex to Best of Breed and a few major-reserves along the way as well.

October 17, 2005
Oneida finished the first part of her Delta Society Pet Partners program class. We have next Sat. and then the evaluation on Sun. Wish us luck. If we don't pass "aren't ready" it will be because I get nervous. Oneida is GREAT and will make a great "therapy" dog.

February 2006
Oneida and I pass our Pet Partners evaluation and will soon be registered as part of the Delta Society Pet Partners program. Oneida is GREAT and will make a great "therapy" dog. We hope to be visiting children in day care centers and hospitals soon.

Oneida and I also continue working toward being ready to compete in AKC obedience trials.

March 2006
Oneida and I suspend our working towards obedience titles, to have puppies. She and I fly to Oregon to meet the "man" of her dreams. Read more about Redd on our Planned Breedings Page.

July 2006
Oneida surprises us by having only ONE puppy! We'd wanted to keep the "pick" female puppy from the litter, and Oneida has only ONE puppy--a MALE!!! What was she thinking?? To see pictures of the pup visit our Puppies Page.

October 2006
After we decided to keep the ONE MALE puppy, we decided that we weren't going to using Oneida for any other breedings, so she was spayed.
