ONLY ONE MALE PUPPY joined us on July 6, 2006. Please see our Puppies Page for more information!!
Oneida finished her AKC Championship in style! On July 8, 2005, Oneida earned a 3-pt major under judge, MRS. KAREN C. WILSON. During her show career, Oneida earned a total of 17 points under 10 judges--including a 5-pt major under MR. ELLIOTT B. WEISS.
Now that she has accomplished her Championship, it's time to look for fun elsewhere...we were thinking about obedience, which has already been started, agility, rally, and therapy dog work. And maybe even tracking. That should keep us busy for awhile.
Oneida and I complete our Pet Partners class and pass our evaluation. We are now registered through the Delta Society. We are hoping to be volunteering to visit children in shcools, daycare centers, and hospitals soon.
Oneida and I are also currently in class...learning what we need to know to compete in AKC obedience trials.
Oneida's favorite thing to do...

| I know what you are thinking. You are thinking that Oneida sleeps all day and all night. Well, I can assure you this is not the case. It just happens to be easier to take pictures of her when she is still. LOL We brought Oneida into our home in July of 2004, soon after her third birthday. It was the first time I'd ever adopted an adult dog, yet I had no worries over bringing Oneida home with me. From the first moment I met her, I knew she wanted nothing more than to be in someone's home on their sofa or better yet...their LAP!!! Oneida is a sweet, loving gal. She is very intelligent and will let Ginny know when she has THE bone that she wants. Oneida LOVES chewing on nylabones. She LOVES to sit on my lap and get her attention...which I have always let her do. She gets to spend time on my lap each day...which is probably why she attached to me so quickly. I tease Oneida that she is part "Springer" because she springs up on her hind legs. When we first got her, every time I bent down to pet her, she would spring up and usually smack me in the face. So I had to teach her to sit to be petted. I then taught her to spring up on command. We've used it at show dog class to help her relax and I have found that it helps. Oneida has very strong prey drive...and will "hunt" in our backyard for quite some time if she sees our neighborhood squirrel peek over the fence. I know she could easily get a hunting title if she had the right training/handling. After completing her Championship, I plan to take Oneida into the obedience ring. She LOVES to chase cats, but only wants to play. Our cat, Kenai, isn't sure what to think of her. He runs, she chases. He doesn't run, she barks and paws at him. He doesn't think playing with Brittanys is a lot of fun, so poor Oneida doesn't get to play.
April 1, 2006 We are looking forward to Oneida having her first litter of puppies. I'm sure she will make a wonderful mother! If you are interested in getting on the puppy waiting list, please email me.

The Summer of the Girls
Sherry Rilea, Oneida's and Ginny's breeder and co-owner, visited the Summer of 2005 for a series of dog shows. She brought Oneida's littermate sisters with her.
